The process typically involves the use of cutting tools which are guided along the surface of the workpiece. Our tool maker uses a combination of skill and precision to create complex shapes and intricate details.

Manual lathe turning is an accessible and cost-effective option for small-scale prototyping and development.

In addition to a small-sized lathe, Zulu Manufacturing has a precision engine lathe with a 16” swing and 40” length across centers. Our tool maker can achieve tolerances of 0.0005” with the lathe, and even higher tolerances with grinding operations if needed.
